Civic EXL

Fun to drive and fuel efficient car. CVT numbs the driving a lot but is a trade off for the increased fuel economy. Seating is decent, but could definitely use some more lumbar support to make it better.

My 3rd and Favorite Honda
Friday, June 03, 2022
I have now had 3 Honda's: 2013 Accord EX-L in Lunar silver on Black leather 2020 Civic EX in Cosmic Blue on Grey cloth now a 2022 Civic EX in Meteorite Grey on Grey cloth and this is by far my favorite. I bought my car September 1st, 2021 and feel in love with the design of both interior and exterior. Honda makes a great car with great creature comforts. This feels more spacious than my last civic and smoother. I went with the EX because of the features. I convinced my older sister to get a 2022 Black Sport model and she loves it. I honestly do not regret this purchase at all. There are a few let down in however, such as the bad paint quality. They barely put any layers or clear coat on the car the littlest scratch from your nail could leave a mark. The grey seats are also more of an off-white / oat cream color, which is really misleading comparing the hue to the last generations grey cloth seats that were actually grey. Lastly, the drivers aids can be quite intrusive and more harm than good. The front collision warning has turned on very abruptly very few times but still annoying. The lane departure system makes the steering feel forced if you go against it, but the lane keep assist is very useful and works most of the time. Overall this is a great car especially for my long commutes and the value you get. I would recommend this car to everyone.

It’s a Honda

Value of the MSRP compared to resell is insane, $5,000. Obviously Civics aren’t for bigger/tall people, however there is a ton of space in the basic LX model. It is difficult for me to get in and out though (I’m 5’10, 175lbs). My one complaint is the defrost of the rear and side mirrors. They don’t. You have to drive until your side mirrors use the wind to clear the dew. Other than that, have a steady 29mpg. Highest has been 30mpg. Safety features include lane departure mitigation, the steering wheel does pull you back into the lane, alert for brake is just okay. Planning on getting 200k miles on this car as I truly believe Honda’s last forever. If you have a baby, you need to get a specific mirror to see your kiddo. The ones they sell at Walmart do not fit around the head rest as they don’t adjust for you to clip.
