Extremely well built lawn ornament

12/28/2021

1) H2 is extremely difficult to find for this vehicle. 2) The H2 you find has come from fossil fuels (in fairness so does most of the electricity in the California grid) 3) small interior and long exterior 4) has a button to dump the water but it doesn’t notify you when you need to dump the water. 5) can’t even drive 300 miles away from Los Angeles because the only station on I5 probably doesn’t work. (It didn’t today) 6) fuel costs about $16.00 for the equivalent to one single gallon of gasoline or an entire Tesla Model S or Lucid Air battery charged. 7) The full range is to be indicated 238 miles. I have considered switching to kilometers so that it appears I can go further than I actually can. 8) The traffic aware cruise control is useless in Los Angeles traffic, as it shuts off at 28mph. I rarely exceed that speed in bumper to bumper traffic. 9) California Fuel Cell Partnership states on their website that it only takes 3-5 minutes to fill one of these cars. Well the fact is that if there is no one in front of you at the station and the station is operational the it could be accurate. However the reality is that it will take longer for you to fuel your car. First you need to find a functioning station with fuel, something we all typically take for granted. 10) forget it, I could keep going but if you have made it down this far in my review of this silly car I recommend you buy it off of me, and try it for yourself. I don’t care how much fuel Toyota will pay for, this is the worst car purchase I have ever made and I have owned a Plymouth Omni before.

Do not Buy hydrogen cars

12/26/2023

❌❌❌☠️☠️ WARNING- Do not buy Mirai or any Hydrogen powered cars due to ridiculous pricing of Gas and poor resale value of vehicles .Do not fall in trap with 15k free gas card .You get a same car with 75 percent less value at car max with no free gas card . You will be spending 36 dollars per KG which is very expensive than regular gasoline and you will be spending one dollar nearly for each mile you drive .Is it not cheating ??And also, you have to drive far to find gas because most of gas stations do not work or having pumping issues . I am educating car buyers about risk of these cars and you going to suffer financially and mentally. Please take feedback of any Mirai or other Hydrogen gas car owners and you are going to get same feedback. Beware of free gas card and you will be spending it in months due to high Gas price . Thank you ❌❌❌❌❌☠️☠️

Good luck finding fuel

01/18/2022

The car itself is a great concept - green, comfortable, quiet, smooth. No issues with the reliability or performance. Where this car fall short is in the availability of fuel. Three fundamental factors here 1. lack of infrastructure - there just aren't enough stations. Toyota continues to promote, sell and lease the vehicle beyond the ability to support. There just aren't enough fueling locations or pumps. Additionally, the supply of available fuel has been outpaced by demand. Twice I have seen Mirai's on tow trucks waiting in line for fuel. 2. Reliability of the fueling stations. At any given time 30-50 percent of the stations are off line for maintenance. this adds pressure to the remaining stations compounding the issues above (lack of stations and available fuel). 3. Time to refuel each vehicle takes ~10 minutes to re-fuel on a good day and this doesn't count the 30 - 60 minutes of waiting in line. Some factors here, hydrogen is compressed and is very cold. This almost always causes the pump connection to freeze and get stuck to the vehicle - meaning you cant get it off the car and need to wait for it to thaw. Additionally, there is usually a period of 5 minutes or so between the time the car ahead of you finishes and the time the pump is ready to fuel the next car - the pump even has a countdown timer. The bottom line is the concept is great and the vehicle drives nice, but refueling will consume your life. Better to wait for more reliable infrastructure to support before considering a Mirai.
