Car Overview
Chevrolet Impala
The Chevrolet Impala nameplate has a long and storied history. Launched as a standalone model in 1959, the Impala has seen several discontinuations and revivals over the decades. In 2000, Chevy dusted off the Impala name again, placing it on a front-wheel platform as a replacement for the company’s Lumina family sedan. As was tradition, a sporty SS model joined the lineup to supply more attitude and performance. A redesign for the 2006 model year lasted a decade, spending its final years as the Impala Classic. The 2014 Chevrolet Impala was a traditional full-size car with room for up to six people, a giant trunk, a genuinely appealing design, and decent performance. However, the Impala could not withstand the consumer switch to SUVs. So the last ones rolled off the assembly line in 2020.
