Terrible Vehicle

Sunday, June 25, 2023

Had non-stop issues iwth Porsche Taycan. The air conditioner went out at 500 miles. The dealer put 150 miles on the vehicle when it went on for service. The charger doesn't work. Keys don't work. Constant warning lights. Would not recomend.

It’s a Porsche

Monday, September 05, 2022

I own a Tesla and yes they are great from a tech and charging infrastructure perspective but the Taycan is a Porsche. It drives like a Porsche handles like a Porsche and is simply solid. It just happens to be electric. The Tesla is a great car handles well is fast but it’s an EV first and a drivers car second.

Perfect EV luxury commuter

Saturday, April 02, 2022

I sold my V8 M3 6MT and leased a 2021 base model Taycan after we started smelling the Bootleg Fire in Boston. It was the only EV not a Tesla that felt luxurious and could comfortably fit 2 car seats. The car feels like zipping around in a bubble of calm, even in Boston traffic. It handles better than the Porsche SUV's and Panamera; not as good as the 911. Other than an awful bluetooth system that has trouble connecting initially to my phone, the car has been fantastic. A key feature I overlooked when looking at EV's is how quickly the can recharge at a Level 3 charger. The Taycan can do 270 kw/hr, which means that you can add on about 200 miles in about 25 minutes. That made our roadtrips a breeze, even with two young children. I think the car is great, but do think that it's not a "value" buy by any stretch of the imagination. What you are paying for is knowing that if you have a problem, the dealer will pick your car up from you and leave you with a loaner. The service at Porsche is incredible.
